A view from the streets of St. Petersburg

Making up one bunk bed is usually enough - three in twenty four hours is a little superfluous, however more on that at a later date...for now St. Petersburg appears to be treating us well.

This morning's free walking tour was more than worth the tip we paid if only for the hint of a decent place to find lunch half price, however picture typical tourist sites, interesting tales and some statue toe-rubbing for good luck and you've got a good idea of our interesting morning. And incidentally the lunch recommendation led us to an awesome restaurant with 50% off for sitting in the window.....tables are over rated anyway!

Taking advantage of the sun (and the student discount on the hydrofoil) we headed onto the water and 29km south of St. Petersburg to Peterhof for the formal gardens with 140ish fountains (or so we've been told- even I wasn't going to count). Well worth the trip out of the city but did mean we ended up with a day of an extended distance walked and the colour of my feet on return showed it!

It was hot and I got thirsty, but there were pretty buildings and cake.
